The ASUS RT-N66U Router offers a WLAN coverage of up to 120m² in the building thanks to its good hardware equipment, the powerful external 3x3 antenna design, and the ASUSWRT software optimized for WLAN performance. In the 5 GHz band, the four channels 36 / 40 / 44 / 48 can be used freely in the EU for indoor Wi-Fi. With the ASUS RT-N66U router, the channels above 48 can also be used. To avoid interference, DFS can be used to automatically change channels. Thus the full channel spectrum of 5 GHz is available. With Asus Roaming Assistance technology, users never have to manually switch connections between an Asus router and repeater when moving from place to place at home. When activated, the device will automatically connect to the strongest WLAN signal, regardless of whether it comes from the router or repeater. This ensures that the user always receives the most reliable connection. The guest network technology makes it easy to set up additional WLAN networks over the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. For each guest network, the usage time can be limited and the access permissions can be adjusted.

Thanks to the integrated USB 2.0 port, USB devices such as USB sticks, printers or 3G/4G Internet sticks can be connected to the ASUS RT-N66U router and easily shared over the network. The exclusive Asus Router App simplifies control of the home network. The app displays information such as the current data rate or the CPU/ RAM status.
